HYDERABAD:  A junior planning officer and architect of VGTMUDA were caught today while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a dental surgeon to approve a plan for construction of an apartment.

The junior planning officer, Chinta Ramesh Babu, and architect Neeli Kesava Rao, of Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali- Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority in Mangalagiri, Guntur were trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials today afternoon. They demanded and accepted Rs 50,000 from a dental surgeon and managing partner of Lakshmi constructions, Guntur, B Basaveswara Rao Choudary to approve his plan for the construction of an apartment.

Choudary is also the managing director of Sri Sai Multi specialty dental hospital, Guntur.

The two officers were arrested and will be produced before a special court for ACB cases, Vijayawada.
