PIL Filed against Srisailam Goud

A public interest petition has been filed in the High Court seeking directions to the election officers to take action against Kuna Srisailam Goud, former MLA from Qutbullapur, for furnishing ‘false information’ in the affidavits filed along with nomination papers in the previous election.

The petitioner, ‘Watch Voice of the People’, a society represented by D.Praveen Kumar of Mahbubnagar district, alleged that Goud had given false information in the affidavit with regard to his assets and education qualifications at the time of contesting poll in 2004. He won the election as an independent candidate and subsequently joined the Congress and served the term till 2014.
