THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: M S Sreenivasan, Managing Director of Kerala Kaumudi daily, died here on Monday. He was 65. He had been under treatment for diabetes and was hospitalised three days ago.
The body has been kept at the hospital mortuary and will be brought to his residence at Kumarapuram here on Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday, the body will be brought to the office of the Kerala Kaumudi for the public to pay homage. The cremation will take place on October 6. His only daughter Anju Rajeev, who is in the US, will reach here on Wednesday.
Sreenivasan was the third son of late K Sukumaran, founder-editor of Kerala Kaumudi, and late Madhavi Sukumaran.
Kerala Kaumudi editor-in-chief M S Mani, editor M S Madhusoodanan and joint managing director M S Ravi are his brothers. He is survived by wife Laisa, daughter Anju, son-in-law Rajeev Vijayan and grand children Madhavi Rajeev and Devaki Rajeev.
Anju is also the director of Kerala Kaumudi. Sreenivasan, after securing a degree in business administration, has been very active in the newspaper industry for the past 38 years. He had a very close rapport with the employees of the daily. As a management expert, he had made immense contribution for the growth of Kerala Kaumudi, which is entering its 100th year of publication. He was born on October 29, 1944, at Mayyanad in Kollam. Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and Opposition Leader Oommen Chandy condoled the death.
