THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nominations have been invited from institutions and individuals for C K Jeevan Memorial Award 2014. The award has been instituted by C K Jeevan Trust, Kottayam.
This year, the award will be given to an individual for life-time contributions towards popularisation of science and initiating scientific temper in the society.
Contributions such as scientific publications in Malayalam, including books and research articles, lectures, committed voluntary activities and their social impact would be the criteria for selection of this year’s award.
The award, comprising a purse of Rs 10,001 and a citation, will be distributed in a function coinciding with the 15th C K Jeevan Memorial Scholastic lecture in Kottayam during the end of December this year.
Nominations along with detailed note of different facets of contributions of the proposed nominee and supporting documents shall be sent before October 31 to Kurian K Thomas, secretary, C K Jeevan Trust, Karimpanatharayil, Manarcadu P.O., Kottayam-686019. Every year, the C K Jeevan Award, to commemorate the late youth leader, is given to outstanding personalities for their achievements in different fields.
The award winners in the past years include renowned litterateur N S Madhavan (Best Environmental report, 2012) and Chennai Asian College of Journalism director K Sasikumar (Life-time contributions to Malayalam Visual Media, 2013).
