The final leg of the shooting schedule of ‘Krishnaveni Panjaalai’, was completed recently. The film deals with the lives of cotton mill workers who toil for almost nothing in return. The film documents the turbulent phase from the late 50s till the early 90s of thousands of mill workers who lived in the Udumalpet region of the erstwhile Coimbatore district.

Along with the script, a soft romantic episode has been inter-woven to make the proceedings interesting.

The typical factory-type surroundings, the families of all those workers and the union meetings have been shot naturally. Hemachandran plays the male lead opposite debutant Nandana.

Rajeev Krishna, who played the hero in ‘Aaha’ almost a decade ago, returns to big screen in a significant role with this film.

Shanmugaraja, Ajayan Bala, Renuka, Balasinh, Poovitha, and Hemalatha form the rest of the cast. Suresh Bhargav, an erstwhile assistant of Balumahendraa, handles the camera while Raghu Nandan (of ‘Tenmerku Paruvakaatru’) scores the music to the lyrics written by Vairamuthu. Produced by Minveli Media Works, the film has been directed by Dhanapal Padmanabhan, who has also penned the story, screenplay and the script of the film.

The film is co-produced by Dr Shanthi Duraiswamy of Sakthi Masala and K Pandiyarajan of MaFoi.

The music of the movie is set to be released soon.
