India will be working with Pakistan to put the composite dialogue process back on track, official sources said.
The move follows Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s call to build on bilateral ties to give a new focus to the peace process during his meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s special envoy Satinder Lambah in Lahore. Lambah had then conveyed New Delhi’s willingness to cooperate with Islamabad. With a new government in place in Pakistan, official sources said, both the countries would try to put the dialogue process back on track.
In the first place, Foreign Secretaries of the two countries are likely to discuss the schedule for the talks at various levels.
The Union Ministry of External Affairs had carried on with the talks, despite scrapping bilateral dialogue at all levels.
