Gogoi Orders Roadmap to Wipe out Militant Groups

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday asked the Unified Command to prepare a time-bound roadmap to eliminate terror groups, such as NDFB(S), and start intensified operations.

 “In a meeting of the Unified Command, the Chief Minister gave orders to prepare a roadmap with proper timeframe to eliminate terrorists,” an official release from CMO said.  The Army recently conducted a few operations to snuffle NDFB(S) miliitancy in Assam.  An NDFB(S) terrorist was killed in an operation in Tengabil in Sonitpur district of Assam on 09 October 2014. One Pistol was recovered from the site.

Six suspected NDFB (S) Terrorist were apprehended, in another operation, from Nilibari in Kokrajhar district on 09 December 2014.

Two NDFB(S) terrorists were killed in a joint operation in Dholpani Nala, Chirang District on 21 December 2014. One M-16 Rifle, one AK Rifle, one INSAS, two pistols, three hand grenades and other ammunition were seized from the location.

Two NDFB (S) terrorist were killed in an operation in Kalamati in Sonitpur District of the state on 20 Dec ember 2014.
