Jayaram in Dutch Open Quarterfinals

NEW DELHI: Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram reached the men's singles quarterfinals of Dutch Open Grand Prix after a straight-game win over Hong Kong's Chun Hei Tam at Almere, the Netherlands today.

The Indian, seeded 13th in the USD 50,000 tournament, beat his Hong Kong opponent 11-5, 11-6, 11-4 in 21 minutes to book a last eight berth at the Topsportcentrum Almere.

He will next take on Indonesian third seed Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka who beat qualifier Ari Trisnanto of Germany 11-6 11-6 11-4 in another round three match.
