Reddy laid a foundation for the IT park to be developed in 30 acres near Gannavaram at a cost of Rs 425 crore. A sum of Rs 70 crore has been sanctioned in the first phase. Speaking to `Express', IT Park CEO V Udaybhaskar said that the IT Park of Vijayawada is the first-of-its-kind in the entire area offering an array of sophisticated facilities. It has obtained IT/ ITES/ SEZ status. The IT park offers space at a most economical price with low operational costs meeting individual customer's requirement. The Vijayawada IT Park, a prestigious and unique project in coastal Andhra is being developed by L&T Hitech City Limited (a joint venture of L&T Infocity Limited and Andhra

Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation  Limited), he added. As Vijayawada region has a good potential of manpower of nearly one lakh professional graduates, including 13,500 engineers from 35 engineering colleges

and 2,600 MCA graduates from 46 colleges, passing out annually, there will

be no dearth of manpower. Statistics reveal that a sizable percentage of Indian software professionals are from Andhra Pradesh and a significant chunk are from Vijayawada typifying the excellent manpower availability for IT/ITES operations in Vijayawada. The district administration is gearing up for the inauguration of the first tower in IT park on January 28. Aesthetically designed and constructed by L&T, the first phase of the project Medha has been completed with about 2 lakh sq.ft of IT space. The IT CEO said that the the project is being equipped with amenities like food court, fitness centre, business centre, banks & ATMs, help desks,- amphitheatre. He said the building has Intelligent Building Management System, high speed elevators and several other features. The CEO said the Vijayawada IT Zone will provide low human resource costs and low operational costs. He said the high quality hassle-free infrastructure at the most cost effective pricing makes it a true value for money for the companies operating from Vijayawada IT Zone.
