HYDERABAD: Well known Telugu writer Avasaraala Ramakrishna Rao died of cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at NIMS on Friday morning.

He has been suffering from a heart ailment for the last several months.

He was 80.

Ramakrishna Rao carved a niche for himself in the Telugu fiction world with his unique style of comedy.  Avasarala's feature 'Mathe-me-tricks' which was carried regularly in the children's magazine, ‘Bala Jyothi’, earned him a lot of accolades.

He started writing at the age of 16.
