BANGALORE: Notorious rowdy Srinivasa alias Bethnagere Seena (35), who is in judicial custody in Gulbarga jail, has been booked under the Goonda Act.

Seena, a resident of Bethnagere, Dasanapura Hobli in Bangalore North Taluk, was reportedly involved in several murder cases under Nelamangala, Thyamagondlu, Kudur, Yeshvanthapura police stations.

A rowdysheet was opened against Seena at Nelamangala Police Station during 2005. As many as 11 criminal cases have been registered against him in different police stations for four murders, two attempt-to-murders, a dacoity, two robbery cases, one cheating case and one case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, police said.

Bangalore District Police have initiated proceedings under the Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum Grabbers Act.

Another Rowdy held

The City Crime Branch (CCB) police on Friday arrested notorious rowdy Jagadish alias Jagga of Marenahalli of Vijayanagar and five of his associates.

Among his associates, Mohan Kumar alias Benki (22) of Mallathhalli, Manjunath alias Golla Manja (23), Jagadish (38) of Malleshwara, Ravikumar alias Ravi (37) of Srinagar and Prasanna Kumar (37) of Srinivasanagar were held.

The gang was trying to murder a member of a rival gang before robbing him in Rajagopalanagar.

They have rivalry with another notorious rowdy Mulama, police said.

Jagga is the associate of Rowdy Tammaiah and is involved in two murder cases in Vijayanagar, one assault case and a robbery case in Chandra Layout.

The other accused Mohan and Manjunath were involved in the double murder of Toni and Suri in Kengeri in 2006.
