In what could be one of the greatest Mother’s day present ever, a 15-year-old boy from Shivamogga district dug a 45-ft well for his struggling mother.

Pavan Kumar couldn’t bear to see his mother walking half a kilometer to fetch water for daily needs. The boy from Shettisara village decided to dig a well in his backyard two months ago. Despite fracturing his hand in the process, Pavan remained defiant until he succeeded.

Two weeks ago, he managed to complete the mammoth task and everyone in his village started calling him ‘Bahubali’ (protagonist of a Telugu blockbuster film of the same name). “I had my holidays and I thought why not dig a well for my mother, who spent a minimum of two hours to get water,” the PU student told The News Minute.

Pavan admitted that his friends and even his mother suggested him saying that “she was used to getting water from the village well.”

The police aspirant dug up to 45-feet himself after which he broke his hand and had to take help from professional well diggers for another 10 feet to find water. Thanks to Pavan’s efforts, the water from his well is also being supplied to other nearby villages.
