PATHANAMTHITTA: Thousands of devotees offered worship at the Lord Siva Temples across the district in connection with the Shivarathri celebrations on Monday.

  The temples at Thrippara, Chengannur, Pandalam, Adoor Thrichendamangalam, Mallappally Thirumalida, Konni Muringamangalam, Mookannur and Manthalir were visited by large number of devotees from early morning.

  At Thrippara Lord Mahadeva temple, the 10-day Sivarathri festival concluded with aarattu on Monday. Hundreds of dhara rituals were offered to the Lord by the devotees. Annadanam was offered to around 5,000 devotees at 1 p.m. after the dhara and uchcha pooja, Devaswom manager M.K.Gopalakrishna Pillai said.

  Special rituals were held at the temples of Chengannur, Pandalam, Adoor Thrichendamangalam and Konni Muringamangalam.

  At Mallapally Thirumalida Sree Mahadeva Temple, thousands of devotees participated in the procession that included ‘kavadi’ offerings by hundreds of devotees. The procession twas witnessed by hundreds of devotees gathered on either sides of the road.
