High Court gets four new judges

Four district and sessions judges have been elevated to the rank of Kerala High Court  judges on Friday. The new judges are Kollam District Judge P D Rajan, Thodupuzha District Judge K Ramakrishnan, Kerala High Court Registrar General B Kemal Pasha and Ernakulam District and Sessions Judge A Hari Prasad.

All the four members entered the judicial service on August 18, 1995. P D Rajan served as the Additional District and Sessions Judge at Kollam, Kottayam and Mavelikkara and Motor Accident Claims Tribunal at Malappuram and Alappuzha. He functioned as a district and sessions judge at Kozhikode and Kasargod. He enrolled as a lawyer in 1987 and practiced at the District Court Centre.

Kemala Pasha completed his education at the Government High School, Anchal, Kollam, St. Johns College, and the Government Law College, Thiruvanantahpuram. He served as the principal sessions judge at Ernakulam and Thrissur. He also worked as the district judge of Kozhikode and Kottayam. Kemal Pasha has been registrar general since March 2012. His wife is Kasthuri and has two children, Alli and Archa.

K Ramakrishnan started his practice as a junior to the late T A Ramadasan. He was an Additional District Judge at Kottayam, Calicut and Mavelikkara. He later served as the principal and sessions judge at Thiruvananthapuram and Idukki.

A Hariprasad was educated at the Government Victoria College, Palakkad, and the Government Law College, Kozhikode. After completing his law degree, he started his practice at Tirur in Malappuram. He joined the judicial service as a district judge in 1995. He served as the district judge at Palakkad, Thalassery, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. He also worked as the director, Kerala Judicial Academy and as the registrar at the subordinate judiciary.
