Express News Service

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Remembering his long-term association with director Sasikumar, who passed away on Thursday, veteran lyricist and filmmaker Sreekumaran Thampi said that he had stopped the shooting of his ongoing movie ‘Ammakkoru Tharattu’ after hearing the news of the sad demise of Sasikumar.

“I had a long personal and professional association with Sasikumar sir. As a lyricist and scenarist I penned the most number of songs and scripts for him. I stopped writing for him when I became busy as a director.

He had also directed four films produced by me.

We were constantly in touch with each other until recently, and used to travel together. I stopped the shooting of my film ‘Ammakkoru Tharattu’ when the news of his death reached us,” Thampi said.

He said he had never seen another director who could picturise shots so fast.
