NAYAGARH: Crop damage due to the recent flood in Gania, Bhapur and Khandapara blocks of the district has been estimated at Rs 72.55 lakh.

In the flood damage report submitted to the State Government, the district administration said crops in over 7746 hectares (ha) of land have been damaged. Around 5176 ha suffered 50 per cent crop loss.

As many as 67,321 persons in 110 villages were affected. In Bhapur block, 293 houses were completely damaged, 91 in Khandapara and 22 in Gania blocks.
