VCK hails CM for exposing perpetrators

VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Monday thanked Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for exposing those who had instigated the violence at Marakkanam on April 25.

In a statement here, Thirumavalavan said, in her reply to the discussion on the issue in the State Assembly, the Chief Minister had clearly stated that PMK founder S Ramadoss had flouted the norms fixed by police for conducting the Chithirai festival at Mahabalipuram.

Referring to the assurance of the Chief Minister that legal action would be taken against those who indulged in violence, he said, “The Chief Minister had, at the very appropriate moment, brought to the light the facts relating to Marakkanam incidents.”

Thirumavalavan, who also called on Vaiko, plans to meet BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan among others, on Tuesday.
