HYDERABAD: The state government on Wednesday launched its digital classrooms programme, an initiative of broadcasting classes through a satellite based communication network, with the help of ISRO and the Union government, in as many as 3,352 high schools across the state.
Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari, who holds education portfolio, and IT Minister K T Rama Rao together started this programme from the SOFTNET Studio of state-run Mana TV at Jubilee Hills here. Later, Srihari watched the same programme at Government High School at Banjara Hills with the students.
Under this programme, students can watch teaching of various subjects through Mana TV, an educational channel being run the state government.
“On the first day itself, the programme was telecasted to as many as 3,352 schools across Telangana. In the coming days, we will extend the programme to all the 5,400 government schools,” Srihari said.
He made it clear that digital class rooms programme is to help the teachers in providing best learning techniques to their students. “This initiative will not affect the future of teachers in government schools. The programme is only to aid them in effectively teaching various subjects to the children,” he said.
According to Srihari, the initiative will be extended to all schools across the state by the next academic year.
