Turkish influencer, who married herself in viral video, dies by suicide

Turkish influencer Kubra Aykut, famous for her viral video 'wedding without a groom', died after falling from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment in Istanbul’s Sultanbeyli district.

The incident occurred on September 23, and police recovered a suicide note.

As the tragic news broke, many fans quickly raised concerns about her social media posts prior to her death.

“I’ve gathered my energy, but I can’t seem to gain weight. I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do; I urgently need to gain weight,” Kubra wrote in a post.

In her last TikTok video, shortly before her suicide, Kubra was seen cleaning her house.

In 2023, Kubra became popular on TikTok with her distinctive and empowering "Wedding without a Groom" series.

In a bold move, she symbolically "married" herself while wearing a stunning white gown and tiara.

Kubra has 1 million TikTok followers and above 225k Instagram followers.
