Tata Motors Unveils Low-priced Trucks Under Prima Range

D Truck maker Tata Motors launched 10 new trucks from its Prima LX range which includes segments like haulage to construction trucks.

The company said that these trucks would be modern but affordable in their usage as part of their HorizonNext strategy. “The new Prima LX trucks being launched today are geared to help customers meet a challenging market environment, allowing transporters to upgrade to a more modern trucking systems,” Ravi Pisharody, Executive Director - Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors, said.

The new range, which includes six heavy trucks for haulage segment and four for the construction purposes, is around 20 per cheaper than the existing Prima range.

The Prima range was conceived in 2008 by the company. Tata, however, has been witnessing declining sales of their CV segment. The company saw -49 per cent de-growth as the it  sold 23,990 units in February 2014 when compared to 47,389 units sold in the same month in 2013.

Their Medium and Heavy CV segment saw a  -14 per cent de-growth as the company sold 9,109 M&HCV in February 2014 as against 10,629 units in February 2013.

The Prima LX range is priced between Rs 18.5 lakh and Rs 32.5 lakh. The company sells Prima range of trucks between Rs 23 lakh and `65 lakh.
