Mercedes-Benz A-Class Facelift Launched in India at a Price Tag of INR 24.95 lac

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the facelifted version of A-Class in the country. The Sports A180 petrol and the A200d Sport will be available for the price tag of INR 24.95 lac and INR 25.95 lac (Ex-Showroom Mumbai) respectively. New Mercedes-Benz A-Class is marked as the 15th launch from the German automaker in the country. This most awaited luxury hatch sports plush looks and takes on the likes of Volvo V40 and BMW 1 Series in the segment. This newly introduced vehicle gets no updates on the mechanical front while minor tweaks can be seen inside and out.

On the outside, the front façade of the car gets revised with different graphics for the lighting cluster where refreshed headlamps go quite well with the new stylish bumper. Apart from this, new Elbaite green color scheme is applied over the vehicle. At rear, similar treatment is given to the build except the tail lamp cluster that has been updated to rejuvenate the looks. Coming to its side profile, the car flaunts sporty looks with blackened ORVMs and new set of 5-spoke alloy wheels. As far as dimension are concerned, the car measures about 1433 mm in height, 4292 mm in length, 1780 mm in width and the wheelbase of 2699 mm.

Inside, new A-Class facelift receives CLA, the steering wheel is three spoke and multi-functional with control switches mounted on it. The 8.0-inch touch screen COMAND infotainment unit is the most striking element which further comes with the Mirrorlink software that can be connected to the Smartphone and features the Apple Carplay. A new theme has been introduced to the cabin and seats are covered in excellent fabric layers. Other standard attributes of the vehicle are the AC vents and the reverse camera.

Under the bonnet, new A-Class comes fitted with the same powertrain that is seen in its previous version. The car will work on the 2.2-litre engine that can generate a power output of 136 bhp and peak torque of 300 Nm while on the other hand, the car will carry a 1.6-litre direct fuel injection system that further produces the power output of 120.7 bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm. Both the mills come mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The car also comes equipped with Mercedes Dynamic Select system and assembles three different driving modes such as Comfort, Eco and Sports.

For a better safety, the car comes loaded with advanced safety features, they are the anti-lock braking system, Electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, adaptive brake lights, brake assist system and the hill hold assist.

The vehicle is launched under the ‘15 in 15’ strategy of the company and with the launch of A-Class facelift, the car maker fulfills its promise of introducing 15 new cars in the year 2015.
