For many of us vehicle’s design and decor means its front, rear and sidelines and very often we ignore that alloy wheels are another very significant thing that add to the beauty of a car. They are the smarter medium through which an individual can increase the elegance of his car's wheels that ultimately results into an attractive vehicle appealing to many eyes. Alloy wheels come in many forms but the craze of Chrome alloy wheels has been getting customer’s attention for quite some time now. These wheels indeed enhance the facade of your car, giving it an exclusive appearance. But when it comes to car’s maintenance, we often finish our job doing work on car’s body only. However, we need to learn that regular cleaning and maintenance is as imperative for the wheels as it is for car’s body. These alloy wheels are one of the most difficult parts to preserve and tend to drop their gleam over a period of time.

Here the good thing is that proper care of alloy wheels does not need much hard work but an intervallic cleaning and polishing is sufficient enough to conserve their glow. If you want to avoid any wear and tear of your car wheels and wish them to shine like new, consider the following steps -

1. In case you notice any rust sign on your alloy wheels, clean them with vinegar or cola along with aluminium foil. For this, you can pour some vinegar or cola on the affected portion and rub it with foil with its shiny side up. The reason of using vinegar and cola is their acidic nature that helps in disbanding the rust built on your car’s wheels. After rubbing in right motion, clean the wheels with water and then dry them with a soft and clean piece of rag.

2. The next step is to do the cleaning exercise with the help of soap and water. For this, take a bucket of clean warm water and add some detergent or liquid soap. Soak a cloth into soapy water and give the car’s wheels a mild scrub. You can use a wheel brush to clean the area inside the spokes. After scrubbing the entire wheel scrupulously, rinse off this foamy solution from the wheel with plain water and dry them with a clean cloth or towel.

3. The third step is to use chrome cleaner on wheels. This cleaner material comes either in form of spray or a bottled solution. Though they are costly still we advise you to use them as they restore the wheel’s shine quickly. For that, take a small piece of cloth and sprinkle the spray over it and rub the surface. Take another piece of dry cloth with you so as to eliminate any kind of particles and bring back the shine.

4. The final step is to put some car body-wax or polish as per the needs of the alloy wheels. Use of wax or polish offers much needed glitter to the wheels thereby enhancing their life. The types of wax or polish you want depends on the wheel’s finish and since you have alloy wheels, you need a chrome polish. For applying the polish on the wheels, take some drops on a soft piece of cloth and wipe them softly on the rim of wheels. This must be followed by cleaning via another dirt-free cloth. Repeat this exercise 2-3 times and you will find that your alloy wheels have gained the needed shine.

So aren't these tips sufficient to give your car a sparkly look? Indeed they are, so follow them whenever you find dust or rust on your alloy wheels and save them from corrosion.
