Land Rover is all prepared to launch the facelifted version of range Rover Evoque in India on 19th of November 2015.

The 2016 model updates include new features, fresh design and some other specifications as well.

Evoque is the highest selling car of Land Rover globally which helped in turning the fortunes of the company while the car is currently being manufactured only in India, China and UK. Range Rover Evoque was first introduced in 2011 and instantly became the best-selling vehicle all across the world due to its stylish body structure, performance packed engine and luxury inner comforts, all in a reasonable price bracket.

This year in March, the carmaker started CKD operation in the country at the Pune facility which in turn reduced the Evoque’s price in India by a huge margin. Decline of the price improved the sales in the country. By the same token, the facelifted CKD variant is expected to be priced competitively.

Bookings for the Range Rover Evoque have been already commenced from October 20th 2015. Interested buyers can book the vehicle at the nearest dealership counter. The facelifted Evoque was revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. This will compete against the likes of BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in the segment in the India.

Fresh updates of Evoque exteriors include new front bumper, refreshed radiator grille, large air intake sections, all-LED adaptive headlamps and new alloy wheels. Other than this, the restyled tailgate spoiler and the high-level LED stoplight is fixed at rear.

On the interiors, the car obtains a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, new TFT display in the instrument panel and InControl touch, while there are new seat coverings, door casing is changed and soft touch material is used in manufacturing the facelift version. New Range Rover Evoque is available in different color options for the buyers to choose from.

On the safety front, the car enlists the drowsy driver warning, autonomous emergency braking and the lane keeping assistance. For the Indian spec model, the company has confirmed to offer head-up display, hands-free tailgate functioning, 17 speaker, 825 watt Meridian Surround Sound System, Surround camera system and the Rear seat entertainment.

Mechanically, new Range Rover Evoque will work on the same 2.2-liter diesel mill that is currently powering the Evoque model in India. The mill can deliver the power output of 190 PS and the peak torque of 420 Nm. The car comes coupled with 9-speed ZF transmission. Moreover, the vehicle is blessed with the All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) that is a newly proposed technology maintaining a predetermined speed off-road and helps the driver dealing the tough terrain.

Recently, the car maker launched new Discovery Sports in the country for a sticker price of INR 46.10 lac (Ex-Showroom Mumbai). The vehicle is a luxury off-roader in a rugged outer profile and comes to India via CKD route. Discovery Sports competes against the likes of Audi Q5, BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz M-Class in the segment. Major updated include signature LED DRLs along with the clamshell bonnet, 5+2 seating configuration, Park assist, 17 speakers and 825W Meridian Surround Sound System and optional 7 color patterns.

Talking about the engine specifications, the new Discovery sports is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel mill that can produce the power output of 150 PS and a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1750 rpm. This motor comes coupled with the 9-speed automatic gearbox while the car can go from 0-100 kmph in just 10.3 seconds.
