CHENNAI: With an export market of over Rs 20 crore, Welex Laboratories Pvt Ltd has said  the company has been awarded Good Manufacturing Practices certification by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, based on the format prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“This is a singular honour for the company, making Welex Labs the third company in the field of ayurveda in India to have won this distinguished certification,’’ said Rupam Bhatt, MD of the company, at a media gathering here on Wednesday.

He also said, “Ayurvedic products have witnessed a 25 per cent year-on-year growth and the demand for them is very high both from domestic and international markets, particularly from the latter in recent times. We are also entering a new geography namely Mauritius.”
