Indian companies and businesses would work well to integrate operational excellence into the very DNA of their style as they begin tying into the global supply chain, observed at “National Conclave on Operational Excellence” here on Thursday. The programme was organsied by the Confederation of Indian Industries.
“Operational Excellence is not just limited to manufacturing, but to the entire cycle of operations. This is true in a service industry scenario,” said N Kumar, chairman of CII Institute of Quality.
He added that it would be prudent in India to fuse operational excellence into the company’s DNA than implementing it piecemeal. With the country tying into the global supply chain requirements that every corporation needs, the need of the hour would be shortening product development cycles and cost reduction.
