The share of FIIs in Infosys is reported to have reached a 9-year high of 42.10% in the last quarter (Jan-March) of 2013-14.

The last time FII share in the company rose to this level was the end of March 31, 2005 at 42.87%. FIIs held a total of 40.65% share in the third quarter (Oct-Dec).

But domestic institutional investors share fell to 13.66 %. The number of FIIs who hold the stake in the company has risen to 984 from 897 at the end of the third quarter of Fy14.

The software exporter has been one of the bad performers in the IT sector with a string of below than expected results in the last few quarters. It also saw the return of their co-founder NR Narayana Murthy to revive the company and their sluggish performances under incumbent CEO SD Shibulal.

Infosys will be for the first time in their history looking for a CEO outside the co-founders as Shibulal has made his wish clear to resign from his post if his replacement is found before January 9 2015.
