

Though the focus was present on Nestle for its Maggi Ban, a range of products belonging to top brands had already been rejected by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for various violations of the Food Safety & Standards Act. The list comprises of more than 400 product proposals which were rejected by FSSAI and includes top brands such as Kellogs, Venky’s, Amway, Ranbaxy and Tata Starbucks etc.
According to FSSAI’s data (mentioned in below table), percentage of adulterated food is on the rise in past four years in India. A large number of proposed products were rejected after assessing their risk and safety factors by the Product Approval and Screening Committee.
