Vistara Expands Footprint; Adds B'luru to its Network

BENGALURU:Full service carrier, Vistara Airlines announced flights to Bengaluru from New Delhi and Mumbai as the five-month-old carrier expands its footprint in the country’s airspace.

The joint venture airline between salt-to-software conglomerate Tata Sons and Singapore International Airlines (SIA) will operate two flights from Bengaluru to New Delhi and Mumbai. This will be the 10th destination of Vistara and second in South India after Hyderabad.

Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO of Vistara said that this was the ‘Southernmost point from Delhi’ in their routes. He said that the airline would expand its fleet size to nine from the existing six by the end of the calendar year  2015.

The airline offers a premium economy class in addition to the business class and economy classes.

“We will be entering into partnership with more companies of Tata Group in the coming days as a first step towards our plan to offer value added services to our passengers,” Yeoh said and added that the code share proposal between SIA and Vistara is being looked at by aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
