Sensex Sheds 133 Points in Early Trade

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index, was trading 132.95 points, or 0.53 percent down during the morning session.

MUMBAI: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday was trading 132.95 points, or 0.53 percent down during the morning session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 42.95 points, or 0.56 percent down at 7,567.50 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 24,935.60 points, was trading at 24,911.48 points (at 9.16 a.m.) in the early session, down 132.95 points, or 0.53 percent from the previous day's close at 25,044.43 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 24,949.39 points and a low of 24,867.73 points in the trade so far.
