Building Castles in Digital Landscape

KOCHI: Quitting a high-paid job at the time of recession to start a business sounds like an outlandish idea. But then again, initiatives are the cornerstones of success. Nobody knows it better than the duo, Jabir M L and Remiz Rehnas, who built WebCastle Media Pvt Ltd - a web designing and development firm - from scratch.

With no business experience to boot, the twin-engines powered their way to the higher tiers of web designing and development, though the journey was not easy as it sounds.

From a 150 sqft room, they have now moved to a 4,000 sqft complex in the heart of Kochi.

Ramiz, an exponent in UI development, left his career in a Mumbai firm and joined hands with Jabir - an employee at an MNC at Kakkanad in Kochi - whose speciality lies in UI design skills. They did not look back since.

A confident Jabir says, “I have never regretted my decision to resign the corporate job. Now, I can give jobs to a couple of young people. Quitting was the best decision I have ever made.”

According to Ramiz, ‘Castlers’ never compromise on quality, creativity and are particular about delivering projects in time.

“WebCastle is the best platform for career enthusiasts to develop their skill as we utilise all the new technologies,” says Rashmi Nidheesh, Manager HR and operations.

Over the years, the company has developed a good client base with an impressive satisfaction index.

The company’s list of clients includes Trinity Builders, Brahmins, Milan Designs, Riya Travels, Blossom, Nucleus Properties, MIR Realtors, Millennium Gold, Universal Empire, Cyberunicon and Paul Alukkas.

AppZoc

Appzoc, a sister concern of WebCastle Media Pvt Ltd, is a customised mobile app development and training firm, focusing on business apps with a huge client base in UAE, UK and the US. It is a creative studio dedicated to the development of mobile applications.

“Though we were concentrating on business apps, we have shifted our focus to develop public apps as well,” says Jabir.

AppZoc specialises in iPhone and iPad application development and has developed apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows mobile platforms.

AppZoc provides exercises in developing apps and work on live projects in Android, iOS and Windows phone.

The training programme is intended for students and working professionals who are interested in designing mobile apps and games.

Future Plans

As part of diversification, the company is planning to open offices in Dubai and later in Middle-East.
