Hero MotoCorp shares down over 2 per cent post Q2 earnings

NEW DELHI: Shares of Hero MotoCorp today fell by over 2 per cent after the company posted a marginal increase in net profit for the second quarter ended September.

The stock lost 2.19 per cent to settle at Rs 3,733.05 on BSE. Intra-day, it declined 2.76 per cent to Rs 3,710.75.

Hero MotoCorp was the biggest loser among the 30-share index components.

On NSE, shares of the company dipped 2.18 per cent to end at Rs 3,735.85.

Country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp yesterday posted a marginal increase in net profit at Rs 1,010.49 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, although it clocked a record two million units sales during the period.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 1,004.22 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal.

Total income of the company stood at Rs 8,479.59 crore for the second quarter, as compared to Rs 8,601.10 crore for the same period of the previous fiscal, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
