BANGALORE: Halasurgate police have booked a case against the bank manager of the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur for ‘technically providing’ forged currency notes.
A complaint in this regard was lodged by MN Anand, senior manager of the Canara Bank’s Krishibhavan branch against Babu V Maruti Raj, manager of the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur of Kamaraj Road branch in Bharatinagar.
It is learnt that on May 11, Babu V Maruti Raj had deposited Rs 1.40 crore in the Currency Chest division of the Canara Bank. On May 13, the bank officials found three currency notes valued Rs 1,000 each were counterfeit notes. As per the Reserve Bank of India rules, a case has been registered.
