BANGALORE: Bangalore Metro Rail witnessed another mishap when a hydraulic rig crashed and an earth mover toppled on the construction site on M G Road on Sunday morning. However, no casualties were reported.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) spokesperson said about the incident that it was a case of mechanical failure and not an accident.

"The earth mover broke down a week ago, while the piling work was on at the spot. The machine has been under repair since then and was left at the construction site. As the soil was loose due to continuous construction in the area, it resulted in the earth caving in and the hydraulic rig tilted as a result. This in turn resulted in the tilting of the earth mover," he said. It will take three to four days for the machine to be repaired, he added.
