BANGALORE: A 57yearold retired BSF employee was killed after a speeding car hit his bike in Yelahanka traffic police station limits on Tuesday morning.

Radeshwar Singh was a resident of Vinayaka Layout near Bagalur. He had recently built a house in Yelahanka and was planning a house warming ceremony on December 4, police said.

The accident took place when he was returning home after purchasing materials for the house warming function. Police said the speeding car rammed into his bike from the rear and sped away.

Yelahanka traffic police are investigating the case.

Two suicides in a day

Two persons, including a 19yearold engineering student, committed suicide in two separate incidents reported in the city on Tuesday.

In the first incident, Amith Kumar Yadav, a resident of Bhumika Layout in Rajarajeshwarinagar police station limits, committed suicide on Monday morning. He hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his room. He was a native of Bidar and his father Veerendra Yadav works with the Indian Air Force, police said.

He was a second semester student of BE (Electronics) at a college near Bangarappanagar.

Police said six students lived in that house and in one of the roommates found Amith's body in the morning.

Rajarajeshwarinagar police are investigating the case.

In another incident, a 40yearold person working with a private firm committed suicide by consuming poison in Chandra Layout police station limits on Monday. The victim was identified as Ramalingaiah, a resident of Nayandahalli.

Police are investigating the case.
