BANGALORE: Pothole fury has struck Bangalore city yet again. The latest victim being Hayes Road off Richmond Road. Broken stone slabs, damaged grills and untarred roads seem to tell it all. With pedestrians and motorists risking their lives every single day, the officials of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike seem least concerned with taking up repair work or maintenance of this stretch.  Interestingly, most potholes are formed due to fatigue of the pavement surface. The chunks of pavement between fatigue cracks are worked loose and may eventually be picked out of the surface by continued wheel loads, thus forming a pothole. At night, it poses a huge threat as poor visibility coupled with unfavourable weather conditions can lead to tragic consequences.

The residents and regular commuters on Richmond Road urge the authorities to take stern measures in order to put an end to the pothole menace and provide concrete solutions for the same.
