BANGALORE: Aikatan will soon organise the Durga puja festival.

Aikatan, a club which was established in 1983 in Vijayanagar, is trying over years to bring to the peace loving people of Bangalore Bengal’s cultural heritage and ideals of Rabindranath T a g o r e t h r o u g h social activities.

To pursue with the greatest vigour this cultural exchange, Aikatan is celebrating Durga puja at Airavatha Hotel, next to R V College of Engineering on Mysore Road in West Bangalore.

The puja- programme schdule is as follows: Sasti [2-10-11] Sunday: Inauguration and dandiya dance at 6.30 pm.

Saptami [3-10-11] Monday: Morning puja archana and bhog distribution, evening arati and Bengali folk dance.

Ashtami [4-10-11] Tuesday: Morning puja archana and bhog distribution, evening arati and Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th year birthday celebration and dance drama.

Navami [ 5 - 1 0 - 1 1 ] Wednesday: Morning puja archana and bhog distribution, evening arati and modern songs and dance.

Dashami [6-10-11] Thursday: Immersion, evening community feast, prize distribution.
