BANGALORE: Manjunath alias Kadlekai Manja, an alleged notorious rowdy sheeter, was critically injured when some unidentified miscreants, suspected to be the members of his rival gang, attacked him near DVG Road near Gandhi Bazaar around 7 am on Monday.
The incident, according to the police, took place when he was going to have breakfast after parking his two-wheeler near Vidyarthi Bhavan. The unidentified miscreants, who came in an SUV, attacked him with lethal weapons and sped away. His left hand was precariously hanging from his body after the attack, the police added.
Some people who noticed the victim informed the police about it. The police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted him to private hospital at Kumaraswamy Layout for treatment.
He was a main accused in the murder of Srinivias alias Sitting Seena in 2002. Manja was working as a driver earlier, but later he had started financing business lending loans at exhorbitant rates.
“He was a rowdy sheeter in the Kempegowda Nagar police station,” the police added. Basavanagudi police have registered a case and are investigating.
