BANGALORE: Team AIT Hooligans, a group of 17 engineering students from Acharya Institute of Technology, participated in BAJA SAE INDIA 2012 with a purpose to fulfil their passion for designing and fabricating a vehicle.
Baja SAE India, an inter-collegiate national-level engineering design competition for graduate and undergraduate engineering students was held at Madhya Pradesh recently. The objective of this competition was to bring out the real world engineering projects and the related challenges. Team AIT Hooligans was the first team from Acharya college to participate in BAJA. Team AIT Hooligans, secured 11th position in all India, among 80 engineering college that had participated in the
Approach of the design was based on the comparative study of the various system and components which could be suitably applied to the best working conditions of vehicle.
Members in the team included, Amitav kumar Gupta (captain), Pinaki Dutta, Nayan Prakash, Rahul Ghandhi, Nishkarsh Singh Chauhan, Sourabh Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Bhavin Tangal, Md Anwar Alam, Sandeep Hari, Siddhant Kumar, Mayank, Vivek Kumar, Arpit Shah, Prashant Madhup, Abhishek Kumar and the faculty advisor of the project Jatadhara G S. Each team had a goal to design and build a vehicle which can withstand static, dynamic loads and endurance limit. Sharing his joy over the same Jatadhara G S said, “I have taught my students to apply theoretical and simulation knowledge on real challenges.”
