BANGALORE: A class 12 student allegedly stabbed a 28-year-old woman who was alone at her house and snatched her gold chain at Lalajinagar near Lakkasandra on Thursday afternoon.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Sameer, studying in a college in Chennai. He allegedly snatched the gold chain from Tabassum, the victim, at around 1.30 pm.

Sameer had come to his brother’s house house at BTM Layout. The police said he entered Tabassum’s house after noticing that she was alone and snatched her chain. He also stabbed her stomach and neck with a knife and tried to escape. The neighbours, who heard the victim screaming, immediately rushed to the spot and caught him red handed. They handed him over to the police. The police said he has stabbed her nine times.
