Fa s h i o n a n d Celebrity power come together for a cause.

The second year of Ramp for Champs 2012, associated with Prasad Bidapa, the renowned fashion stylist, was held at ITC Gardenia hotel recently.

Backed by the hotel, Prestige Group, Reliance Trends, Harley Davidson and others, it was graced by Dr.

Kamini Rao of Bangalore Assisted Conception Centre, fashion designer Paresh Lamba, Air France general manager Pieter De Man to name a few, who all accompanied children from Smile Foundation on the ramp.

The show-stopper of the night was Pooja Gandhi who walked with three children in the end and like the rest of the celebrities, showed full support and encouragement to the cause.

Another highlight of the fashion show was the screening of two short documentaries to spread awareness on the importance of education among less privileged children especially the girl child, which rightly set the mood for the evening.

Smita Kalappa, National Director-Child for Child, Smile Foundation, Bangalore said, "This event indeed brought together fashion and power of celebrities to help the least fortunate children in the field of education.

A show with a difference, it aims to raise enough funds to educate at least 1000 children this year having been able to educate 573 children last year.

Most importantly, this event is a great initiative to save the innocence of the young guns, spread smiles across the country and to people towards the cause.

In this way, Ramp for Champs will always remain the forerunner when it comes to addressing social issues with the aid of glamour and fashion."
