BANGALORE: Sanovi Technologies offers IT Disaster Recovery Management (DRM) Software products that help small, medium and large enterprises automate their IT Disaster Recovery Processes thereby benefitting the organisations with recovery readiness assurance and operational efficiencies. Lakshman Narayanaswamy, Co-founder & VP, Sanovi Technologies speaks to Vyas Sivanand about their products and solutions.

What are the unique features of Sanovi in terms of DRM?

In India, companies are increasingly looking at ways to protect their business and data. While doing so, they are considering technologies such as replication of data and look at data centers that can provide disaster recovery set-up. While implementing Disaster Recovery (DR) in data centers, in addition to replication of data, you need programs that assure the disaster recovery will work as planned, and this is where we come in. We provide DRM solutions which allows an assured recovery for the recovery point and recovery time objectives. Another important factor is regulation, wherein for example in the banking industry, RBI mandates disaster recovery to be in place and tested regularly. Here also, once the disaster recovery is in place, in order to be sure that it will work when needed during a disaster event, one needs to implement a DRM solution. The DRM solution provides visibility into the DR systems to meet DR Service Level Agreements (SLA). The DRM solution automates DR drills process to see how the DR system is working. It also provides DR reports for audit/compliance purpose and also to see where the problems exist so that they can be fixed within the stipulated time.Sanovi’s products ensure recovery readiness through a DR life cycle approach including proactive DR infrastructure monitoring and automated DR drills. Built on standards-based platforms, Sanovi’s products offer real-time DR monitoring, DR configuration change validation, DR testing, DR reporting, DR policies and automated failover features. Sanovi products are tightly integrated with several commercial infrastructure applications, replication products and platforms for total infrastructure automation.Sanovi’s products help organisations standardise their DR solutions and deploy DR best practices. They help IT managers to provide transparent DR services to business groups, while enabling an agile DR infrastructure.

What are your views on the DRM market in India?

DRM is a growing market in India and as per estimates, it will be a $ 60 million market by 2015. This is specifically for DRM, which is a software solution used for DR assurance and is over and above the other DR implemented solutions, for example, replication.

Why and what is the significance of the products and solutions today in India?DR is in the top three priorities for most of CIOs in India and worldwide. Several eGovernance projects are coming up and all of them need DR solutions.

Its natural for them to deploy DRM too in their DR solutions to ensure the DR investments work successfully and efficiently. To ensure that a business runs smoothly in spite of external factors like natural disasters, climate changes, political upheavals, there is a need for a very strong disaster recovery management solution on the existing enterprise architecture. Sanovi’s DRM suite is a comprehensive solution that manages IT risks completely.

Sanovi products help organisations go up the DR maturity curve substantially due to the inherent benefits of DR automation, best practices, standardization of DR solutions, stronger DR SLA management etc.
