BANGALORE: Devarahipparagi (Bijapur district) MLA A S Patil received minor injuries in an accident at Gas Town near Bommanahalli on NH 4 in Nelamangala police station limits on Monday evening, the police said.
The accident took place at around 4 pm when he was returning to the city in Tata Safari car from Sandur with his two friends Jalana Saab and Farookhuddin.
Saab, the car’s owner, who was driving the car sustained a severe leg injury. They were all injured when Saab’s overspeeding car tried to overtake a lorry and rammed into it, the police stated. Farookhuddin and the MLA sustained minor injuries in the accident. They were shifted to Harsha Hospital in Nelamangala for treatment. The lorry driver is absconding.
A case has been registered at Nelamangala police station. ENS
