BANGALORE: It was raining pastries at French Loaf, Koramangala as chef Remy Le Goff hosted a special cake buffet for all pastry lovers in and around Bangalore recently. The renowned celebrity French chef who has had the honour of serving the former President of the United States of America, George bush and his wife Laura Bush, has flown in especially from France to host the event.

With the objective of indulging cake lovers from across the city, the buffet featured over thirty exquisitely crafted cakes, cookies and pastries. Some unique cakes on the menu include Gateaux Breton, Coconut Rocher, Kouign Aman, Earl Grey and Caramelised Almond Cake and the Romantique, all of which have been conceptualised by Chef Remy Le Goff. Other delicacies include Strawberry Panacotta, Mango Basil and Mango Cream, Buche Praline, White Chocolate Bonbon, Apple Crumble and more.

Indulging in a variety of mouthwatering pastries, Sonali Sinha said, “I am not really a dessert person but I thoroughly enjoyed the cake buffet at French Loaf. It offered a wide variety of delicious cakes and pastries. My favourite was the caramlised almond cake.”

Speaking about the event Chef Remy Le Goff said, “Creating cakes and pastries in India is so much more challenging because desserts are sweeter here and people appreciate new and artistic flavours. It was a lovely experience to see how well informed the city is about cakes and international pastries.” The chef also explained how the menu was influenced by the French style of cake making in the fact that he chose recipes that involved light and fresh cream based cakes.

The concept of the cake buffet was offered by The French Loaf for the first time in South India to cake lovers and this was the second buffet being hosted by the bakery chain in Bangalore.
