BANGALORE: In a petty fight,  a 26-year-old youth smashed a bottle of beer on his cousin’s head killing him on the spot in Houmbegowdanagar on Saturday. The deceased Ravi, 26,  after being ‘inspired’ by the IPL match on Saturday, headed to a ground with his cousin and friends to play cricket.  While playing, Ravi bowled as Sandeep was on strike. After 20 minutes, passersby noticed that the cousin duo had involved in a brawl. Sources said they fought over a no ball bowled by Ravi.  The tiff lasted for about half-an-hour.

The duo’s friends told the police that they tried to solve the fight and had sent them to their houses.

“Sandeep consumed alcohol and on his way back to home, he saw Ravi at the same ground and smashed a bottle of beer on his head, killing him on the spot,” said an officer at the Siddapura police station. Ravi succumbed while being taken to a hospital.
