BANGALORE: A person was robbed of  Rs 38 lakh cash by four bike-borne miscreants near Sirur Park in Malleswaram on Sunday. The cash belonged to Narahari, owner of Prajwal Properties Private Limited on Sampige Road.

According to the police, Narahari gave a bag containing the cash to one Shivanna, who runs a tea stall near Sampige Theatre and told  him to take the bag to his residence. Shivanna was going to Narahari’s house when four unidentified miscreants on two bikes rammed into  his scooter near Sirur Park. As he fell down, they assaulted him and snatched the bag and fled. Shivanna filed a case with the police.

“However, both Shivanna and Narahari are making contradictory statements and we cannot rule out the possibility of them filing a false case or giving false information. Both have been interrogated. Narahari said he asked Shivanna to take the money to his home and now he is saying he asked Shivanna to give the money to another person. They also checked with that person and he has no clue about the money. We suspect foul play behind the incident,” the police explained.
