BANGALORE: Even though the gold prices are skyrocketing with every passing day, there is no dearth of new showrooms in the city. People are enthusiastic to buy gold considering it a long-term investment.

In one such event, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy and ‘Challenging Star’ Darshan on April 18 inaugurated a gold showroom in Jayanagar 3rd Block.

Tallam Nanjundashetty, former president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Vishwa Santhosha Bharati Thirtha Shri Padharu, Dr Santhosh Guruji were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, managing director of the showroom, R Ramesh said that no wastage is charged on the silver jewellery, while one gram of silver is offered free with the purchase of every gram of gold, besides `51 discount on every gram. He added: “This is our strategy to build a good rapport with the customers. At the same time, we are planning to open over five showrooms in the city.”
