BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Women and Narcotics squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a drug peddler and recovered marijuana and other items.

The accused Shivaram Prasad alias Prasad, 40, is a resident of New Post Office Road in Malur.

Police said that he and  another miscreant identified as Gagan Reddy, were trying to sell marijuana at the junction leading to Central Silk Board from HSR Layout. Based on a tip off, police nabbed Prasad while the other accused managed to escape.

Marijuana worth `20,000, `1,000 cash, a two-wheeler and a mobile phone were seized. A case has been registered in Madiwala police station in this connection. Police are on the look out for the other miscreant who is absconding.
