BANGALORE: The state Gazetteer Department on Wednesday brought out the English edition of the district gazetteers of Kolar and Udupi.

During the function held here by the department, the reprint of imperial gazetteeer-provincial series of Bidar, Raichur and Gulbarga district gazetteers, reprinted editions of Mysore gazetteer including nine books in five volumes including a CD, Glimpses of Karnataka were released.

Secretary of Department of Kannada and Culture and Information Basavaraju said, “Gazzetteers are still prescribed as reference books for the candidates who take up competitive examinations. It is a great source of information for people who deal with activities related to research.”

Lauding the efforts of the department in bringing out the books, Basavaraju appealed to make efforts so that the book is made available to all.
