BANGALORE: Parappana Agrahara police arrested a man in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old woman. The accused has been identified as Nagbhushana, a native of Pavagada in Tumkur district. The victim Padma, a native of Chennai was residing at HSR Layout along with her family.

On April 8, Padma’s body was found in a Eucalyptus grove behind KSRP quarters near Kudlu village. She was brutally killed with a boulder, the police said.

According to the police, Padma’s husband filed a complaint after she went missing on April 7. He claimed that the accused Nagabhushan had taken his wife to his house, claiming that he wanted to buy few sarees from her as she had a saree business. Based on the complaint, the police formed a special team to trace the accused and arrested him in his village.

During the interrogation Nagabushan revealed that he took her to an isolated area and strangulated her with a plastic rope and later smashed her face after taking her gold ornaments, which were recovered by the police.

Man Robbed by Four Persons

Four unidentified persons robbed a man of his valuables in Yeswantpur on Wednesday. According to the police, the incident took place at around 11.15 pm when the victim, Manjunath, a resident of Vidyaranyapura was waiting along with his assistant to receive goods, which were coming from another state. Meanwhile, four miscreants came in a Volkswagen Vento (KA-41, A - 2065) and robbed Manjunath of his gold chain worth Rs 30,000, a mobile and Rs 2,800 cash and sped away.

Man Hangs Self

A 48-year-old man, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Rajajinagar police station limits on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Yogesh was a resident of Rajajinagar.

According to the police, the incident came to light at around 8.30 pm when Yogesh’s body was found by his wife Dharin. He was alone at his residence and hung himself to the ceiling, using a saari. Yogesh’s suicide note stated, “I am depressed in life and nobody is responsible for my death.” The police suspect that heavy loss in business could be the reason for the suicide.
