BANGALORE: Every jewellery store is offering discount on gold and silver, but few for platinum.
Platinum jewellery, the rich man's gold, is known for its everlasting nature. The demand for platinum has risen up as women prefer it for everyday wear as well as for special occasions. However, there are very little schemes and offers on this ornamental metal, compared to gold, when it comes to Akshaya Tritiya.
The demand has been on the rise for these precious jewellery. Rajesh, Store Head of Orra, Commercial street, said, "People are more interested in platinum nowadays. They are coming out of the concept of yellow and moving into white." Diamonds on the other hand is a more fascinating piece of jewellery. With gold being more of an investment these days, women are fashioning diamonds.
Indian jewellers offer various schemes and offers on diamonds as well to boost sales. This in turn encourages women to go ahead and buy them during Akshaya Tritiya. But Platinum has very few offers.
